Hey everybody!
We have officially started the season of fall! This is a great time of year with the school day in full swing, pumpkins and mums adorning our porches, and especially football! Whatever your chosen activity is for the fall it is always of high importance that we do so in consciousness of our Catholic identity to be one with Christ in our words and deeds! You’ll see signs and flyers popping up for our Saint Vincent de Paul Blanket Sunday drive on October 3 & 4. In this drive we are seeking to provide warm blankets and beds to those who are in need. As the weather turns to crisp and cool, you can help to share the warmth in Northeast Ohio. This simple drive provides support to places like our local Saint Vincent de Paul, the West Side Catholic Center, SVDP Ozanam Centers, and the Saint Ignatius Labre Program. Gifts are easy, $25 dollars provides a new warm blanket and $100 provides a set of bedding and basic furniture. Perhaps, we all can consider one less pumpkin on the porch to provide warmth to those in need. Saint Paul helps to give us that same focus on providing aid to those in need when he instructs us to ‘Have in you the same attitude that is also in Christ Jesus.’ Christ humbled Himself and came into humanity. Humanity is worth our engagement. My brothers and sisters, to live in imitation of Christ means to see and respond to the worth of humanity no matter what. Our mission as His Church on earth is to see this worth and act. May God bless you all and continually form your sight to be His.
Pax et Bonum, Fr Joe Robinson
