Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
During the coming week, we have the privilege of remembering our Blessed Mother’s birthday. Birthdays are not only a significate moment for a child that breathes air for the first time, but a significate joy that a mother and father experience during those moments of those first breaths. I can only image that intimate reality of life. Many of you have been graced to have experienced such a profound encounter with the creative nature of our God on those most precious souls that now breath the air we cannot see, but depend on for our livelihood. Also, we acknowledge the excitement of Ss. Ann and Joakim who experienced the privilege of naming their child Mary. All children are known to God by name from within the womb. Each child is graced to receive that spirit of adoption from the moment of their conception. The public name of every child reminds us of that dignity of human life that each human has received even before their first breath.
I know that our communities are grateful for Fr. Joe Robinson’s return and that his energy and enthusiasm are vibrant. As he continues with his self-care, his responsibilities will be limited to providing him with adequate time to adjust to full-time ministry.
Unfortunately, as I attempt to understand Mass scheduling for two parishes, there have been a few major stumbling blocks. I especially want to apologize to Sacred Heart’s 5 pm vigil Mass participants. In the last weeks, the challenges have hit you twice in a row. With Mass being delayed for miscommunication with clergy, your patience has been remarkable. I am grateful to Fr. Joe Robinson and Fr. Jackson for being able to assist us in these moments of need. Please be assured that the staff and I are working to address this issue.
I want to thank the wonderful people at Ss. Peter and Paul Parish for a beautiful Installation Mass last weekend. Your outpouring of support is remarkable. I am looking forward to the Installation Mass on Sunday, September 13th at the 10:30 am Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. It will be wonderful to have Bishop Amos celebrate that Mass for our parish community. A reception will follow in McMahon Hall for all to enjoy.
