Social Justice in Action

Peace & Justice

Apr 12, 2022

This ministry helps to fulfill the Church’s call to social justice to those most in need by feeding the hungry and helping those who are homeless and those that may be in danger of becoming homeless.

Each Friday afternoon items that are needed by the homeless are collected in support of Matthew 8:20 Outreach. On some Saturday afternoons, furniture is supplied to those who are moving into housing. To join this rewarding ministry contact Kathy Potter at (330) 769-2776.

Building a Convent and School in Tanzania – Fundraiser

Watch video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xO-4GBMfs7A

We’re raising funds to help finish building a convent and secondary school in the Diocese of Moshi, Tanzania. These buildings will serve young students in grades 6–11 and be home to 7 religious sisters who will live, teach, and serve the community. Mass will be celebrated daily on site, and the school will be named St. William Secondary School, with the convent bearing the name Sacred Heart of Jesus Convent – a sign of our shared mission.

The goal is to raise: – $64,366 to complete the school – $45,779 to complete the convent and chapel Every dollar goes directly to the project. This is a chance for our parish to walk with the Church in Tanzania and support a community where vocations are flourishing and faith is shaping the future.
